The definitive answer from Avamar Engineering to that question is: No

Changing the MTU on Avamar network interfaces is not supported. Communication between Avamar client and server does not benefit from the larger data size provided by jumbo frames. This configuration is not routinely tested or qualified.

Any changes to MTU on Avamar nodes would require an approved Request for Product Qualification (RPQ).
