Instructions

How to download the Grab Utility and Reports Utility?

For Windows

Download and run Grab for Windows from:

Dell Central https://central.dell.com/solutions/GrabforWindows (requires a Dell account).

Alternatively download and run EMCReports from:

Dell Central https://central.dell.com/solutions/EMCReports1 (requires a Dell account).

Once you have executed the utility, a .zip output file is created " %homepath%\GrabForWindows\outputs" or in "C:\Windows\Emcreports\collection\zip" respectively.

Attach the .zip-file to the service request.

For UNIX

Download and run the Grab for Unix from:

Dell Central https://central.dell.com/solutions/GrabUnixLinux (requires a Dell account).

Once you have run the utility, a .tar.gz output file is created in: ./emcgrab/outputs. Attach the gz-file to the service request.

For vSphere ESXi

Download and run the Grab for ESXi utility from:

Dell Central https://central.dell.com/solutions/ESXiGrab (requires a Dell account).

Notes

For more details on how to run the above utilities, see Primary Solution: How to gather host logs, Grabs, and Reports

Attaching the resulting data collections to the service request, is the preferred method. This keeps the service request documentation and the host data together.
If you are unable to upload to the service request, ask the Support Engineer to provide you with a secure FTP location to upload the grab output to.

Additional Information

The Grab Utility is available for Microsoft Windows 2012 and later, Sun Solaris, HP-UX, IBM AIX, Linux, and ESXi. These utilities should only be run for hosts that are connected to Dell arrays.
