NetWorker 支持 VMware 虚拟机的以下备份级别：

完整 — 备份整个虚拟机。
增量 — 仅自以前的完整备份或增量备份以来的更改写入磁盘。VMware Change Block Tracking （CBT）可计算增量数据。
跳过 — 不执行备份。
仅日志 — 仅用于使用执行的 SQL 备份 MSVMAPPAGENT。这仅用于备份数据库事务日志。

备份级别在备份操作中设置：

Virtual Synthetic Full：

NetWorker 仅支持直接备份到 Data Domain 磁盘设备;进入 Data Domain 后，可以将数据克隆（拷贝）到磁带、Cloud Boost 或其他受支持的克隆设备。这也意味着必须将数据克隆（拷贝）回 Data Domain 设备以执行恢复。

由于备份将执行到 Data Domain，因此无论执行的备份级别如何，目标设备上生成的备份都是新的完整备份。NetWorker 使用 Data Domain 虚拟合成技术创建合成完整备份。这意味着，如果需要，任何备份都可以用于完整映像恢复。由于所有备份都是“虚拟合成完整备份”，NetWorker 支持为虚拟机计划“永久增量”备份。但是，任何虚拟机的第一次备份都是作为完整级别执行的。

监测：

无论计划的备份级别如何，虚拟机备份级别在 NetWorker 中显示为“full”级别。例如，NetWorker Management Console (NMC) 监控窗口显示：

虚拟机备份大小：

不管 nsrcapinfo 或 mminfo 时，虚拟机备份会始终显示 VMware 中虚拟机的完整调配大小。它不会反映增量备份中备份的数据量。例如，虚拟机在 VMware 中显示 100 GB 的调配空间：

在 NetWorker 中，虚拟机大小存在差异，显示者： nsrcapinfo 或 mminfo 与 VMware 中显示的 VM 大小相比。

在 VMware 中，VM 的大小是以二进制 kilo （1024）为单位的字节，从字节开始;而在 NetWorker 中，VM 的大小以 KiB 中的度量千（1000）为单位显示。二进制千分以 KiB、MiB、GiB、TiB 等为单位。以千为单位的公制千克单位包括 KB、MB、GB、TB 等。

提醒：它不能准确地表示每个备份发送的数据量。请参阅每个备份保存的数据 部分。

该大小与将虚拟机存储集大小（以字节为单位）转换为二进制千时 VMware 中报告的大小相匹配。

运行以下命令 mminfo 带有展开的 sumsize 列。扩展后的 sumsize 列显示已调配的大小（以字节为单位），而不是转换后的单位大小。

NetWorker 中显示的单位为“字节”。字节必须转换为二进制千单位（GiB）才能与 VMware 匹配：

Size_in_Bytes / 1024 = KiB / 1024 = MiB / 1024 = GiB

我们可以看到，转换成二进制千字节后，NetWorker 和 VMware 之间的大小几乎是 1：1 匹配。

NetWorker 19.9.0 及更高版本：

NetWorker 19.9.0 以及 vProxy 4.3.0-46（及更高版本）添加了功能，可在虚拟机备份期间捕获所有磁盘驱动器的总调配大小以及虚拟机的数据/文件的总空间使用情况。对于在使用 19.9 和 4.3.0-46 并使用两个新 mminfo -r 标志。

提醒：DiskStats 是向上舍入的值。显示的值向上舍入到最近的下一个单位，在上面的示例中为 GiB。会话日志中的 ChangedBytes 信息或 mminfo 输出报告备份期间发送的确切字节数。

操作系统命令（grep/Select-String）可用于列出每个虚拟机备份会话的总 DiskStats ，而不是逐个查看日志文件。显示的大小有助于确定在虚拟机备份期间发送的数据量。

NetWorker 服务器策略日志遵循 jobsdb 轮换（默认为 72 小时）;在此时间过后，备份日志将从服务器中删除。
vProxy 备份会话日志不遵循 作业数据库 轮换，而是在 vProxy 上驻留数周/数月，具体取决于 vProxy 活动和空间使用情况。
此信息还显示备份会话的吞吐量。
