Symptoms


The energy rating grades on Dell monitors in the EU were changed November 1st, 2020

 

Any Dell monitor sold in Europe after November 1st, 2020 must comply with new changes to the Energy rating grading labeling from the European Union (EU).

Cause

From November 1st, 2020 a new rescaled A to G EU energy label will ship with all new Dell displays.

The new rating labels have a more stringent rating criteria and include a QR Code.

Resolution

The energy rating in the new label is lower than the rating in the old energy label. That does not mean that the product itself is less energy efficient. This is due to a change in the rating classifications, and a change in the calculation that is used to determine the ratings.
