Can I switch to other Office 365 plans?

You can transition your account within service families. (For example: From Office 365 Small Business to Office 365 Small Business Premium, or from Office 365 Enterprise E1 to Office 365 Enterprise E3 or E4.) You cannot transition between Office 365 service families. That means from an Office 365 Small Business plan to Office 365 Midsize Business or an Office 365 Enterprise plan or conversely. To change from a plan in one service family to another, you would first have to cancel your account with the plan you have. Then sign up for a different one. (For example: From a Business plan to the Midsize Business plan, or from the Midsize Business plan to an Enterprise plan.)

NOTE: If you transition your account within a service family, then your domain name is transferred to your new account. This is whether you brought your own domain name to the Office 365 account or you set up a domain name with Office 365.

NOTE: If you brought your own domain name to use with Office 365, that domain name is available when you sign up for your new subscription plan. Setting a domain name with your Office 365 account delays you 90 to 180 days before that name is available for your new subscription plan. (For example: yourcompany.onmicrosoft.com.) If someone else has taken the yourcompany.onmicrosoft.com domain name during that time, you cannot use it.

You can add the domain name that you own to Office 365 to create both domain-based email addresses and a public-facing website.

Find your domain registrar or Domain Name System (DNS) hosting provider This hyperlink is taking you to a website outside of Dell Technologies..

To add your custom domain to Office 365, you must have access to the DNS records for that domain. If you do not have access, you should contact the person at your company that manages the company domain account.

The cloud: This is the common term that is used to describe web-based computing services that are hosted outside of your organization. If you use cloud-based services, then your IT infrastructure resides off your property. (off-the-premises) A third-party maintains it (hosted) instead of residing on a server at your home or business. (on-the-premises)

In Office 365 this includes things like information storage, computation, and software. These are located remotely on servers owned by Microsoft.

Services such as webmail, mobile banking, and online photo storage are cloud services that you probably already use. Because this infrastructure is located online or in the cloud, you can access it anywhere. (For example: From a computer, tablet, Smartphone, or other device with an Internet connection.)

Office 365 does not support Windows Vista and Windows XP.

Unfortunately it does not support the download and use of the latest version of Office software. You cannot substitute Office 2010 for the latest version. You cannot connect any existing Office 2010 or Office 2007 software to the Office 365 service.

If you are running Windows Vista or Windows XP, you cannot install Office 365 Business Premium software. You cannot replace Office 365 Business Premium software with a download of Office 2010.
