Instructions

Some components are designed for simple removal and replacement; such parts are designated as Customer Self-Replaceable (CSR) parts or Customer Replaceable Unit (CRU).

When a Dell technician diagnoses that a CSR or CRU designated part is required, Dell ships the recommended part directly to the customer. This allows customers to swap out parts whenever it is most convenient for them.

Dell’s Customer Self-Replaceable Parts policies apply to the following products sold with Basic Hardware Service.

  • Alienware
  • Inspiron
  • Latitude
  • OptiPlex
  • PowerEdge
  • PowerEdge SC
  • PowerVault
  • Precision
  • Vostro
  • XPS
  • Dell EqualLogic
  • Dell/EMC Storage products
