Symptoms
Need to set the Networker logs to rollover daily, rather than allowing them to grow.
Resolution
Run nsradmin on the server:
nsradmin -p nsrexecd -s localhost
NetWorker administration program.
Use the "help" command for help, "visual" for full-screen mode.
nsradmin> p type: NSR log
Current settings:
type: NSR log;
administrator: root, "user=root,host=server.domain.com";
owner: NMC Log File;
maximum size MB: 2;
maximum versions: 10;
runtime rendered log: ;
runtime rollover by size: Disabled;
runtime rollover by time: Disabled;
name: gstd.raw;
log path: /opt/lgtonmc/logs/gstd.raw;
type: NSR log;
administrator: root, "user=root,host=server.domain.com ";
owner: NetWorker;
maximum size MB: 2;
maximum versions: 10;
runtime rendered log: ;
runtime rollover by size: Disabled;
runtime rollover by time: Disabled;
name: daemon.raw;
log path: /nsr/logs/daemon.raw;
To update the time:
nsradmin> update runtime rollover by time: "17:00"
runtime rollover by time: "17:00";
Update? y
updated resource id 14.0.236.7.47.0.0.0.11.30.125.83.192.168.123.102(3)
runtime rollover by time: "17:00";
Update? y
updated resource id 13.0.236.7.47.0.0.0.11.30.125.83.192.168.123.102(3)
nsradmin>
Note that the actual time the logs rotate may be up to an hour after the time specified, because the log rotate time is checked hourly after Networker start.
Therefore, in the above example, of Networker started at say hh:35, the log rotation will occur at 17:35 daily.
