Symptoms

Le unità NVMe scompaiono o non funzionano quando sono in modalità legacy.

Piattaforme interessate

  • Precision 5820 Tower
  • Precision 7820 Tower
  • Precision 7920 Tower

Cause

La tecnologia Intel Volume Management Device (VMD) (nota anche come Intel® Virtual RAID su CPU o vROC) non supporta la modalità legacy. Queste unità vengono visualizzate collegate al controller solo nella modalità UEFI.

Resolution

Accedere al BIOS e disabilitare i controller VMD in modo che la piattaforma utilizzi i controller NVMe nativi e i driver NVMe sul sistema operativo.

  1. Avviare la configurazione del BIOS
  2. Passare a System Configuration e a Intel VMD Technology, modificare il computer da Auto a Disabled, quindi deselezionare tutte le caselle PCIE nella stessa pagina (Figura 1).

  3. Cliccare su Applica, OK e quindi su Esci.

La funzionalità hot-plug non sarà più supportata su queste unità se utilizzata in questa modalità.
