This article explains how to configure MTU (Maximum Transmission Unit) for Jumbo Frames on Dell Networking Force10 switches.

 

How to configure MTU

 

The MTU is set at the interface level.

 

Command Parameter
FTOS# configure Enter global configuration mode.
FTOS(conf)# interface te 0/1
FTOS(conf)# interface range te 0/1 - 24
Enter the interface or range of interfaces that need the MTU set.
FTOS(conf-if-range-te-0/1-24)# mtu 12000 Set value of MTU. Default is 1554. Value range is from 594 to 12000
Some previous models range from 594 to 9252.
FTOS(conf-if-range-te-0/1-24)# no mtu Returns the specified ports back to the default mtu of 1554.


 

Verify MTU status



FTOS#show interfaces te 0/1
