How to Clear NVRAM/Network/Settings 2xxx Dell Laser Printers

  • Press the Menu button until "Admin Menu" appears and press the checkmark.
  • Press the Menu button until "Maintenance" appears and press checkmark.
  • Press the Menu button until "Reset Defaults" appears and press checkmark.
  • When the "Are you sure?" message appears on the operator panel, press checkmark.
  • Power cycle the printer to apply the settings.

Network Settings
  • Press the Menu button until "Admin Menu" appears and press checkmark.
  • Press the Menu button until "Network" appears and press checkmark.
  • Press the Menu button until "Reset LAN" appears and press checkmark.
  • When the "Are you sure?" message appears on the operator panel, press checkmark.
  • Power cycle the printer to apply the settings.

  • Press Down to "Setup" and press checkmark.
  • Press Down to "Admin" and press checkmark.
  • Press Down to "Maintenance" and press checkmark.
  • Press Down to "Initialize NVM" and press checkmark.
  • Press Down to "System Section" and press checkmark.
  • When the "Are you sure?" message appears on the operator panel, press Left/Right to "Yes" and press checkmark.
  • The printer automatically power cycles to apply the settings.

Network Settings
  • Press Down to "Setup" and press checkmark.
  • Press Down to "Admin" and press checkmark.
  • Press Down to "Wired Network" and press checkmark.
  • Press Down to "Initialize NVM" and press checkmark.
  • When the "Are you sure?" message appears on the operator panel, press Left/Right to "Yes" and press checkmark.
  • The printer automatically power cycles to apply the settings.
2145cn Reset NVRAM/Network/Other Settings
  • Press Menu and go Left/Right to "System Setup" and press OK (Asterisk).
  • Press Left/Right to "Clear Setting"and press OK (Asterisk).
  • Press Left/Right to the item that you want to clear.
    • "All Settings" - Clears all the data stored in memory and resets all your settings to the factory default.
    • "Fax Setup" - Restores all the fax options to the factory default.
    • "Copy Setup" - Restores all the copy options to the factory default.
    • "Scan Setup" - Restores all the scan options to the factory default.
    • "System Setup" - Restores all the system options to the factory default.
    • "Network" - Restores all the network options to the factory default.
    • "Address Book" - Clears all the fax number and email address entries stored in memory.
    • "Sent Report" - Clears all records of sent faxes and emails.
    • "Fax RCV Report" - Clears all records of received faxes.
    • "NetScan Report" - Clears the information about network scan sessions in memory.
  • Press OK (Asterisk) when "Yes" appears.
  • Repeat steps 3 through 5 to clear another item.
  • Press Stop/Clear to return to "Ready" mode.

  • Press the Menu button.
  • Press Down to "System Setup" and press checkmark.
  • Press Down to "Admin Menu" and press checkmark.
  • Press Down to "Maintenance" and press checkmark.
  • Press Down to "Reset Defaults" and press checkmark.
  • Press Down until the wanted setting is highlighted, and press checkmark.
    • User Fax Section - resets the fax number entries in the Address Book.
    • User Scan Section - resets the email and server address entries in the Address Book.
    • System Section - resets the system parameters.
  • Once "Are You Sure?" is displayed. Press Down to "Yes" and press checkmark.
  • The printer restarts automatically to apply the settings.

Wired Network Settings
  • Press the Menu button.
  • Press Down to "System Setup" and press checkmark.
  • Press Down to "Admin Menu" and press checkmark.
  • Press Down to "Network" and press checkmark.
  • Press Down to "Reset LAN" and press checkmark.
  • Once "Are You Sure?" is displayed. Press Down to "Yes" and press checkmark.
  • The printer restarts automatically to apply the settings.

Wireless Network Settings
  • Press the Menu button.
  • Press Down to "System Setup" and press checkmark.
  • Press Down to "Admin Menu" and press checkmark.
  • Press Down to "Network" and press checkmark.
  • Press Down to "Reset Wireless" and press checkmark.
  • Once "Are You Sure?" is displayed. Press Down to "Yes" and press checkmark.
  • The printer restarts automatically to apply the settings.

  • First, you must enter the Configuration menu with the following steps:
    • Turn off the printer.
    • Open the front access door.
    • Turn on the printer while pressing and holding Continue (right arrow).
    • Close the front access door and release Continue (right arrow) once the Error [!] light displays.
  • Once in the Configuration menu, press and release Cancel (X) to advance through the menus and menu items.
  • In order to reset factory defaults, press Cancel (X) until the "Press Continue" light is the only light displayed.
  • Press and hold Continue (right arrow) until all the lights cycle.
  • Power cycle the printer to return to "Ready" mode.
2330dn/2350dn System Settings
  • Press the Menu button.
  • Press Right to "General Settings" and press checkmark.
  • Press Right to "Factory Defaults" and press checkmark.
  • Press Right to "Restore Now" and press checkmark.

NVRAM/Network Settings from Configuration Mode
  • Power off the printer.
  • Press and hold the ü and right arrow buttons.
  • Turn on the printer.
  • Press Right to "Factory Defaults" and press checkmark.
  • Press Right to "Restore Base" or "Restore STD NE" and press checkmark.
  • "Submitting Changes" will be displayed on the screen as the settings are restored. The printer automatically restarts on its own.

    • "Printer Setup": Clears all the data stored in the memory and resets all settings to the factory default.

    • "Tray Behavior": Restores all the Tray Behavior options to the factory default.
    • "Copy Defaults": Restores all the copy options to the factory default.
    • "Fax Settings":
      • "Fax Defaults": Restores all the Fax Setup options to the factory default.
      • "Advance Setup": Restores all the Advanced Fax setting options to the factory default.
    • "Scan Defaults": Restores all the scan options to the factory default.
    • "Sent Report": Clears all records of your sent faxes.
    • "Rcvd Report": Clears all records of your received faxes.
  • Press checkmark. The selected memory is cleared, and the display asks you to continue clearing the next item.

Network Settings
  • Press Left/Right to "Setup" and press checkmark.
  • Press Left/Right to "Network Setup" and press checkmark.
  • Press Left/Right to "Clear Settings" and press checkmark.
  • Press Left/Right to "Yes" and press ü to restore the network configuration.
  • Power the printer off and back on or reset the network interface card.
Clear Settings/Network from Tech Mode
  • Enter "Tech Mode"
    • To enter the Tech mode, press the lower half of the Address Book > # > 1 > 9 > 3 > 4 > checkmark in sequence, and the LCD displays "Tech Mode" or "User Mode" when selecting options. To disable "Tech Mode," enter the button sequence again.
  • Press Select (checkmark) on "Data Setup."
  • Press Down to "Clear All Mem." and press Select (checkmark).
  • Press Down to your country or region and press Select (checkmark).
2355dn System Settings
  • Press "Setup" -> "Machine Setup" from the "Home" screen.
  • Press the Next ( > ) button.
  • Press "Up/Down" to select "Restore Options."
  • Press "Up/Down" until you see the option that you want to clear.
    • "Printer Setup": Clears all the data stored in the memory and resets all your settings to the factory default.
    • "Paper Setup": Restores all the Paper Setting options to the factory default.
    • "Tray Behavior": Restores all the Tray Behavior options to the factory default.
    • "Copy Default": Restores all the copy options to the factory default.
    • "Fax Default": Restores all the Fax Setup options to the factory default.

  • Press "Select" (checkmark) when the confirmation window appears. The selected memory is cleared.
  • Press "Home" to return to the "Standby" mode.

Network Settings
  • Press "Setup" -> "Machine Setup" from the "Home" screen.
  • Press the Next ( > ) button.
  • Press "Up/Down" to select "Network Setup."
  • Press "Up/Down" to select "Clear Settings."
  • Press "Select" (checkmark) when the confirmation window appears.
  • Power the printer off and back on or reset the network interface card.
Clear Settings/Network from Diagnostic Mode
  • Enter "Diagnostic Mode."
    • To enter diagnostic mode, press the 1, 2, and 3 number keys simultaneously. When the password dialog box appears, enter "1934" and press "OK."
  • Press "Test Routine."
  • Press "Other."
  • Press "Memory Clear."
  • Press left or right to choose the Country.
  • Press "Start."
B2360d/B2360dn System Settings from "Ready" Mode
"Restore Now" returns most printer settings to the original factory default settings. Exceptions include the display language, custom sizes and messages, and "Network/Port" menu settings. All downloads stored in RAM are deleted. Downloads stored in flash memory are unaffected.
  • Press the Menu (Wrench button) button.
  • Press Right ( > ) to "Settings" and press OK.
  • Press Right ( > ) to "General Settings" and press OK.
  • Press Right ( > ) to "Factory Defaults" and press OK.
  • Press Right ( > ) to "Restore Now" and press OK.
  • The printer displays "Submitting Selection," then "Restoring Factory Defaults." The printer returns to "Ready."

System/Network from Configuration Mode
  • Turn the printer off.
  • Press and hold Right ( > ) and OK while turning the printer on.
  • Release both buttons when the progress bar appears.
  • The printer performs its power-on sequence, and then enters Configuration mode.
  • Press Right ( > ) and choose "Restore Factory Defaults."
    • "Restore Base"—restores all noncritical base printer NVRAM settings.
    • "Restore STD Net"—restores all network NVRAM settings.
  • The printer restarts several times during this process.
  • Once finished, power cycle the printer to return to "Ready" mode.
NVRAM from Configuration Mode
  • Turn the printer off.
  • Press and hold Right ( > ) and OK while turning the printer on.
  • Release both buttons when the progress bar appears.
  • The printer performs its power-on sequence, and then enters Configuration mode.
  • Press Right( > ) and choose "Wipe All Settings."
    • This makes any sensitive information that may exist on the volatile or nonvolatile storage of the device indecipherable. When selected, the printer performs a noncritical NVRAM reset and then reboots.
  • The printer restarts several times during this process.
  • Once finished, power cycle the printer to return to "Ready" mode.
B2375dfw/B2375dnf The printer may need to be logged in on the operator panel as an admin. Default Username: admin and Password: admin
System Settings
  • Press "Right" ( > ) and select "My Settings" on the touch screen.
  • Press "Machine Setup."
  • Scroll down and press "Factory Reset."
  • Confirm this option to reset defaults.
  • Press the Home button to return to the "Home" screen.

Network Settings
  • Press "Right" ( > ) and select "My Settings" on the touch screen.
  • Press "Machine Setup."
  • Scroll down and press "Network Setup."
  • Scroll down and press "Clear Settings."
  • Confirm this option to reset defaults.
  • Press the Home button to return to the "Home" screen.
Clear All Settings
  • Press "Right" ( > ) and select "My Settings" on the touch screen.
  • Press "Machine Setup."
  • Scroll down and press "Initial Setup."
  • Confirm this option the reset defaults to when the printer was first turned on.
    • Run through the initial settings and options selections as if the printer were new.
Clear All Settings from Service Mode
  • Enter "Service Mode."
    • While logged out of the operator panel, press Home, Job Status and Info buttons in succession and hold each one after pressing until all of them are pressed. Hold for 2 seconds.
    • When the password input window appears, touch the input box.
    • Enter "1934."
    • Press the arrow button in the bottom right.
    • The Service Mode menu is displayed.
  • Press "Test Routine."
  • Press "Other."
  • Press "Memory Clear."
  • Choose your country or region and press "Start."
    • This menu resets the system to factory default settings. This function is used to reset the system to the initial value when the product is functioning abnormally. All the values are returned to the default values, and all the information, which was set by the user, will be erased.
C2660dn System Settings
  • Press the Menu button.
  • Press Down to "Admin Settings" and press Select (checkmark).
  • Press Down to "Maintenance" and press Select (checkmark).

    • Hold down t, u and Menu and turn on the printer.
    • When "Developer/ CE Password" comes up on the screen, press p twice, and then press checkmark.
  • Press Select (checkmark) on "Printer Diag"
  • Press Down to "Installation Set" and press Select (checkmark).
  • Press Down to "NVM Init" and press Select (checkmark).
  • Press Select (checkmark) on "ESS Init."
  • Press Select (checkmark) on "OK?" message.
  • Power cycle the printer to return to the "Ready" mode.
C2665dnf System Settings
  • Press the Information button.
  • Press the "Tools" tab on the screen.
  • Press "Admin Settings."
  • Press "Maintenance."
  • Scroll down and press "Reset Defaults."

Network Settings
  • Press the Information button.
  • Press the "Tools" tab on the screen.
  • Press "Network."
  • Press "Reset LAN."
Clear Settings from CE Mode
  • Boot into CE Mode.
    • Hold down 4, 5, and 6 and turn on the printer.
    • When "Diag Password" comes up on the screen, press 2 twice, and then press 5.
  • Press "OK" on "Printer Diag."
  • Press the "down" (v) arrow to "Installation Set" and press "OK."
  • Press the "down" (v) arrow to "NVM Init" and press "OK."
  • Press "OK" on "ESS Init."
  • Press "OK" on "OK?" message.
  • Power cycle the printer to return to the "Ready" mode.
S2500n Reset NVRAM
  • Turn off the printer.
  • Open the top cover on the printer.
  • Hold down the Continue ( > ) and the Cancel (X) buttons simultaneously while powering on the printer. The LEDs on the printer cycle.
  • Once the Error [!] light is on and the lights do not cycle, release the Continue ( > ) and Cancel (X) buttons.
  • Close the top cover on the printer.
  • The printer factory defaults are restored.
  • Power cycle the printer.
S2810dn Reset NVRAM
After running this function and rebooting the printer, all the menu parameters are reset to their default values.
  • Press the Menu button.
  • Press Down to "Admin Settings" and press Select.
  • Press Down to "Maintenance" and press Select.
  • Press Down to "Reset Defaults" and press Select.
  • Press Down until "Start" and press Select.
The printer restarts automatically to apply the settings.
S2815dn Reset NVRAM
After running this function and rebooting the printer, all the menu parameters are reset to their default values.
  • Press the Menu button.

S2830dn Erasing Volatile Memory
The volatile memory (RAM) installed in your printer requires a power source to retain information. To erase the buffered data, simply turn off the printer.
Erasing Non‑volatile Memory
Note: Wipe All Settings securely removes device settings, solutions, jobs, and passwords from the printer memory.
  • Turn off the printer.
  • Hold down 2 and 6 on the keypad while turning the printer on. Release the buttons only when the screen with the progress bar appears. The printer performs a power-on sequence, and then the Configuration menu appears. When the printer is fully turned on, a list of functions appears on the printer display.
  • Press the up or down arrow button until Wipe All Settings appears. The printer restarts several times during this process.
  • Navigate to: Back > Exit Config Menu
The printer performs a power on reset, and then returns to normal operating mode.
