How to Safe List Files in Dell Threat Defense

  • Prevent third-party conflicts
  • Resolve performance issues
  • Clear false positives

This article discusses how to safe list files in Dell Threat Defense.

  1. From a web browser, go to the Dell Threat Defense administration console at:
  2. Log in to the Dell Threat Defense administration console.

  3. In the console, click the Settings tab.

  4. In Settings, click the Global List tab.

  5. Click the Safe tab.

  6. Files may be safe-listed for Executables or Scripts. Click the appropriate file type for more information.

Executables

  1. Click Add File.

  2. In the Add File to Safe List menu:
    1. Populate the file’s SHA256.
    2. Optionally, add the file’s MD5.
    3. Optionally, add the File name.
    4. Select the appropriate Category for the file.
    5. Populate a Reason for safe listing the file.
    6. Click Submit.

Scripts

  1. Click Add Script.

  2. In the Add Script to Safe List menu:
    1. Populate the file’s SHA256.
    2. Optionally, add the File name.
    3. Populate a Reason for safe listing the file.
    4. Click Submit.
