Issue Description

When loading scaleio.mib, it complains about a missing "EMC-MIB.MIB" file.


Scenario

Scaleio.mib cannot be loaded when testing Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) traps from ScaleIO.


Symptoms

Depending on the monitoring software, the errors may be different, but are similar to the following:

operation LoadMib failed"..Failed to load MIB modules from scalio.mib: problems were repported during parsing, unable to load requested" MIBs"ERROR : Cannot find module file://<path>/scaleio.mib:Line 7:Column 54:EMC-MIB


Impact

Unable to load the scaleio.mib (provided in ScaleIO 2.0 User Guide)

Cause

The scaleio.mib file indicates an "EMC-MIB.MIB", which must be placed in the same directory as scaleio.mib.

Resolution

Workaround

Contact Dell ScaleIO Technical Support and quote this article ID and obtain the EMC-MIB.MIB. Technical Support can provide the MIB. Place it in the same directory as scaleio.mib.
