No DisplayPort, HDMI, or other adapter shipped with the computer

Often computers are purchased as replacements for existing computer installations that do not require a replacement of the LCD display. Due to changes in the default graphics ports on newer computers, it is often found that cables or adapters are required to make the necessary connections between the computer and the existing LCD display.

Connection options for newer computer graphics adapters

Dell offers our customers a wide variety of connection options that can be purchased at the Dell website:

  • DisplayPort to High-Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) adapter
  • DisplayPort to VGA adapter
  • DVI-I to VGA adapter
Note:
  • Use of a cable adapter is not supported in all configurations. Some graphics adapters may require a specific adapter or cable connection.
  • If your display is over 5 years old, it is strongly suggested you consider a new display when purchasing a new computer to ensure that the display is compatible with your computer.
