How to Troubleshoot No Audio When Using the HDMI ARC eARC Port on Alienware Gaming Monitors

  1. Ensure that the monitor firmware is updated to the latest version.
  2. Use a High-Speed HDMI cable to connect the Alienware monitor to the soundbar.
    Note:
    • If the soundbar supports ARC only, an HDMI 2.0 or above cable is required.
    • If the soundbar supports eARC, an HDMI 2.1 cable is required.
    • Some soundbars come with an HDMI cable in the box. Ensure the HDMI cable meets the requirements stated above.
    • The HDMI cable that comes in the Alienware monitor box is a High-Speed HDMI 2.1 cable.
  3. Some soundbars have more than one HDMI port. Ensure the HDMI cable is connected to the HDMI port that supports ARC/eARC.
    Note: Some soundbars do not have the words ARC/eARC printed next to the HDMI port. Check the documentation to identify the correct port.
  4. Ensure the HDMI cable is connected to HDMI (eARC/ARC) port of the Alienware monitor (check the monitor documentation to identify the correct port).
  5. Ensure that HDMI CEC is turned on in the OSD:
    • Open the OSD and go to Others > HDMI CEC.
