IDPA: Allowed Point Product Upgrades
Summary: This article summarizes allowed Point Product upgrades under the PowerProtect Data Protection Appliance and PowerProtect Data Protection Series Appliance.
Instructions
The Integrated Data Protection Appliance (IDPA) is an all-in-one backup appliance. It reduces the complexity of managing multiple data silos, point solutions, and vendor relationships by simplifying deployment and management. This remains true in its upgrade workflow. However, situations may occur where a component upgrade or a point product upgrade becomes imperative. Specific versioning has been tested to allow compatibility within the appliance.
Therefore, in such scenarios, follow the table below to understand the approved and supported types of upgrades for point products within IDPA.
Also, review the article PowerProtect Data Protection Series Appliances and IDPA: General Security Hardening Best Practices for IDPA version 2.7.7 and 2.7.8 for more information (Log in as registered Dell Support user may be required to view this article).
Ensure that IDPA is on the latest version before applying any out of band updates:
IDPA 2.7.9 is now released. Upgrade to the latest release before applying any out of band upgrades. See the PowerProtect Data Protection Software product page for latest Downloads and Drivers.
