Instructions

Steps

  1. Verify SDS, and DasCache are fully operational:

    For example:

    [root@Node1 ~]# scli --query_sds --sds_name sds01
    [root@Node1 ~]# fscli -l
    
  2. Verify DasCache version:

    For example:

    [root@Node1 ~]# rpm -qa | grep fiop
    fiop-1.5.14.rel-R3_9_Win_Linux.41_3.10.0_327.el7.x86_64.x86_6
    
  3. Enter the SDS to maintenance mode.

    For example:

    [root@Node2 ~]# scli --enter_maintenance_mode --sds_name SDS1
    Set Maintenance Mode Results:
            SDS SDS1: Success
    
  4. Upgrade the OS (yum update or with any other method).
    Note: Reboot may be required.
     
  5. Upgrade the DasCache software to match the new kernel version.

    Note: Reboot may be required.

    [root@Node]# ./SanDiskDASCacheInstaller-1.5.14.41-20200402-RHEL-6x7x.run -- --sio
    Verifying archive integrity... All good.
    Uncompressing The installer for SanDiskDASCache SE for Linux..........................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................
    Checking whether kernel 3.10.0_957.el7.x86_64 is supported....
    kernel 3.10.0_957.el7.x86_64 is supported...

    Please reboot the machine for the changes to take effect

  6. Verify the DasCache version after upgrade:

    For example:

    [root@Node1 ~]# rpm -qa | grep fiop
    fiop-1.5.14.rel-R3_9_Win_Linux.41_3.10.0_957.el7.x86_64.x86_64
     
  7. Verify the SDS and DasCache are fully operational, the same as step 1.
     
  8. Exit SDS from maintenance mode.
     
  9. Verify cluster health.
     
  10. Move to the next node.
