Introduction

The secure connect gateway 5.x technology is the next generation consolidated connectivity solution from Dell Technologies Services. SupportAssist Enterprise and Secure Remote Services capabilities are integrated into secure connect gateway technology.

Our secure connect gateway technology is delivered as an appliance and a stand-alone application. It provides a single solution for your entire Dell portfolio supporting servers, networking, data storage, data protection, hyperconverged, and converged solutions.

Customers running legacy connectivity on their Dell systems can adopt the latest technology with minimal disruption. In-place upgrade paths are now available for our Secure Remote Services 3.x as well as SupportAssist Enterprise 4.x and 2.x platforms.

Get Connected

New to connectivity?

Follow the four steps below to prepare your environment and get connected to secure connect gateway. 

Step 1:  Prepare your site & verify account
Preview technical requirements and plan with your network administrator. Prior to step 2, set up an enterprise business account at Dell.com/Support.

Step 2: Download
Sign in with account credentials at the product support page for secure connect gateway on Dell.com/Support.
Get the right edition for your environment and create the authentication access key.

Step 3: Install and provision
Deploy the virtual appliance template or install the application software. Complete initial registration steps.

Step 4: Connect your devices
Configure and enable communications between your Dell products and the gateway server.

Already using Secure Remote Services or SupportAssist Enterprise in your environment?

  • Access the technical documentation to learn about the in-place upgrade paths now available for the Secure Remote Services 3.x as well as SupportAssist Enterprise 4.x and 2.x platforms . Dell systems must be on the following versions and so, updates from prior versions may be required:
    • Appliance version: Secure Remote Services v3.52 
    • Appliance version: SupportAssist Enterprise v4.0.6
    • Application version: SupportAssist Enterprise v2.0.7
 
  • Here’s what to expect:
    • You will be prompted to download the files from a banner in your gateway management dashboard. 
    • Once the software is updated, use the root account username and password for the legacy technology to access the newest gateway.
    • Next, you are guided to provide details to complete registration. This includes the user license agreement and proxy network details.
    • After the upgrade, all devices, settings, and other associated information are migrated to secure connect gateway.
Tip: For global gateway customers in clustered environments, we recommend upgrading one gateway at a time to minimize downtime.
