How to export and push wireless profiles to Windows Embedded Dell Thin Clients from Wyse Management Suite

Exporting the Wireless profile from thin client using Command Prompt

  1. Log in to the Windows Embedded thin client as Administrator.
  2. Go to the Control panel > Network & Internet > Manage Wireless Networks > Click ADD.

  3. Select Manually create a network profile.

  4. Enter the Network information (Network name, Security type, Encryption type, Security Key) and click Next.

  5. The new wireless network profile is added.

  6. Open the Command prompt as Administrator and enter the command below, It lists all the network profiles in the device:
    netsh wlan show profiles

    Type netsh wlan show profiles
  7. To export the newly created wireless profile, enter the command below:
    netsh wlan export profile name="Profile_Name" folder ="Export_Location"

    Type netsh wlan export profile name="Profile_Name" folder ="Export_Location"
  8. The profile is exported to the specified location in xml format.

Importing the Wireless profile to Wyse Management Suite

  1. Log in to the Wyse Management Suite.
  2. Go to the Apps and Data tab and select the File repository > Inventory and click Add File.

  3. Select the newly created wireless profile file and click Upload.

  4. Once the wireless profile is uploaded, it can be seen in the Inventory.

Pushing the Wireless profile to Windows Embedded thin clients using App Policy.

  1. To which you wanted to push the Wireless profile Group, then select Groups & Configs tab in the Wyse Management Suite Portal.
  2. Select Edit Policy and click WES.

  3. Select Network and click Configure this item option.Click Configure this item
  4. The newly uploaded Wireless profile is displayed in the drop-down box. Select the Wireless Profile and click Save & Publish.

  5. The newly configured policy is listed.

  6. The Policy that is created for Wireless Profile can then be pushed to thin clients individually or as a group.
    Warning: Write Filter should be ENABLED on the thin client while pushing the policy from Wyse Management Suite.
