Symptoms

CyberSense analysis job reported as Completed with Exceptions in Cyber Recovery.
The ie_run.log on the CyberSense host contains the following indexing failure error for an XFS partition:

2024/03/07 20:54:35 error: mount_dev: mount of /dev/loop0 failed (WEXITSTATUS=32), stdout:'', stderr:'mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/loop0,
       missing codepage or helper program, or other error

       In some cases useful info is found in syslog - try
       dmesg | tail or so.'

Cause

The XFS partitions were created on a Red Hat 9 host which uses a newer XFS version.
These XFS partitions are not compatible with CyberSense running on Red Hat 7.

 

Resolution

Upgrade to CyberSense 8.6 on Red Hat 9.2.
