DellEMC Oracle Deployment Tar Gunzip - DellEMC-Oracle-Deployment-RHEL7-18c-2019.4-11.tar.gz
The
DellEMC Oracle Deployment Tar Gunzip release assists in the deployment of Oracle on Dell Tested and Validated Configurations. Once the tar file has been unarchived, there will be a number of RPMs that are located in the resulting directory.
To unarchive the file, execute the following command:
tar -zxvf DellEMC-Oracle-Deployment-RHEL7-18c-2019.4-11.tar.gz
The resulting directory will be entitled DellEMC-Oracle-Deployment-RHEL7-18c-2019.4-11 and the below rpms will be found in this directory
- dell-redhat-rdbms-18c-preinstall-2019.4-11.el7.noarch.rpm
- dell-redhat-rdbms-utilities-2019.4-11.el7.noarch.rpm
Preinstall rpm in the
DellEMC Oracle Deployment Tar Gunzip is designed to do the following:
- Disable transparent_hugepages in grub2.cfg
- Disable numa in grub2.cfg
- Create Oracle user and groups oinstall & dba
- Set sysctl kernel parameters
- Set user limits (nofile, nproc, stack) for Oracle user
- Set NOZEROCONF=yes in /etc/sysconfig/network file
Utility rpm in the DellEMC Oracle Deployment Tar Gunzip is designed to do the following
:
- Create grid and user and groups asmadmin, asmdba, asmoper, backupdba, dgdba, kmdba
- Set user limits (nofile, nproc, stack) for Grid user
- Set sysctl kernel parameters
- Set RemoveIPC=no to ensure semaphores set for users are not lost after user logout
