Instructions

This KB provide Dell's vSAN ready nodes-specific firmware catalog payloads supported for Dell customized VMware ESXi 6.x branches. This firmware catalog is to be used for specific Dell branded vSAN Ready nodes as noted in the KB here. For general ESXi specific use cases, use the firmware catalog provided here.

 

NOTE:
  • The file named as vSAN_Catalog.xml.gz is the compressed version of the catalog file.
  • vSAN_Catalog.xml.gz.sign is the signature associated with the specific file. Some of the Dell provided user space applications which consume the catalog file may need the signature file as well to verify the checksum.

NOTE:
  • Starting catalog version "22.04.04," the vSAN firmware catalog supports R7515 and R6515 vSAN Ready Nodes in addition to the existing servers.
  • Starting catalog version "21.10.29," the vSAN firmware catalog supports R750 and R650 vSAN Ready Nodes in addition to the existing servers.
  • Starting catalog version 22.01.10, Dell started providing a firmware version report as well along with catalog payload and signature file. This helps the users to review the firmware versions in an HTML format without using any external utilities.
