How to mute the microphone array on a Dell Latitude E7440
Locating the microphone array mute option on a Dell Latitude E7440 laptop.
This is the standard design and is working as designed.
Follow the steps below to successfully locate and mute the microphone array:
- Locate the Dell Audio icon in the Windows System Tray or Control Panel.
- Click or Tap the Dell Audio icon to open the utility.
- On the Main Tab, under the Volume category, select the option to mute the microphone array.
Note: If you are unable to locate the Dell Audio icon in either location, then the Audio Driver must be installed or reinstalled. Download and install the latest Realtek Audio driver for the Latitude E7440 from the
Downloads and drivers section of
Product Support. Be sure to enter your service tag at the Product Support site to identify your system type. Installing or Reinstalling drivers may require a system restart
