Symptoms

When you install the Alienware Command Center, the ELC Firmware can get corrupted causing the lights on the computer to stay off or not responsive to changes done in the Alienware Command Center.

Supported Platforms:

  • Alienware and Dell G-Series Platforms Supporting Alienware Command Center 5.0 and higher

Cause

The ELC Firmware may get corrupted for several reasons, including a sudden shutdown, disconnecting or reconnecting the AC Adapter during installation.

Resolution

Run a repair installation of Alienware Command Center following the steps below:

  1. Download the latest version of Alienware Command Center from the Dell Drivers Page.
  2. ​​​​Run the setup without uninstalling the previous version of the Alienware Command Center.
  3. Once the installation starts you receive a prompt with options to Modify, Repair or Remove.

  4. Click Repair to force the installation to flash the firmware again.
  5. Restart the computer and confirm if the issues persist.
