  1. Pre-removal instructions before removing the system cover:

    1. During installation or removals of any hardware, always ensure that all data is backed up properly.

    2. Disconnect any telephone, network, or USB cables from the computer.

    3. Disconnect the computer and all attached devices from their electrical outlets.

  2. Remove the single thumbscrew that secures the cover to the back of the chassis.

  1. Pull the cover towards the front of the computer until it unclips, then lift it up and away from the chassis.

    4. Remove the System Cover, and Serial and PS I/O Board.

  2. Press down on the release latch until the coin cell pops out [1] and remove the coin-cell battery from the computer.
