Instructions

This Dell KB provide the firmware catalog payloads supported for Dell customized VMware ESXi 8.x branches. Note that the firmware catalog is to be used for general ESXi usecases and not for vSAN. For vSAN, we provide a specific catalog for each releases. To know more about the ESXi firmware catalog in general, refer to ESXi firmware catalog KB.

Below table maps the recommended firmware for Dell customized VMware ESXi 8.x images. This is a living document and gets modified as and when new catalogs are released.
NOTE:
  • The file named ESXi_Catalog.xml.gz is the compressed version of catalog file.
  • ESXi_Catalog.xml.gz.sign is the signature associated with the specific file. Note that some of the Dell provided userspace applications which consume the catalog file may need the signature file as well to verify the checksum.
