Instructions

This Dell KB provide the firmware catalog payloads supported for Dell customized VMware ESXi 6.x branches. The firmware catalog is to be used for general ESXi use cases and not for vSAN. For vSAN, we provide a specific catalog for each release. To know more about the ESXi firmware catalog in general, see ESXi firmware catalog KB.

Below table maps the recommended firmware for Dell customized VMware ESXi 6.x, 6.5.x and 6.7.x images. This is a living document and gets modified as and when new catalogs are released. However, since this is the ESXi 6.x branch and is End Of Life already, there will not be releases for this branch unless there is absolute necessity.

 

NOTE:
  • The file named ESXi_Catalog.xml.gz is the compressed version of the catalog file.
  • ESXi_Catalog.xml.gz.sign is the signature associated with the specific file. Some of the Dell provided user space applications which consume the catalog file may need the signature file as well to verify the checksum.
