Note: Be aware that using a large Phillips or Flat Head screwdriver may result in damage to the head of the screws. This would make their removal impossible without specialty tools, that are not available to our onsite engineers.

 

  1. Pre-Removal Instructions before removing the Access Panel:

    1. During installation or removals of any hardware always ensure that all data is backed up properly.

    2. Disconnect any telephone, network, or USB cables from the computer.

    3. Disconnect the computer and all attached devices from their electrical outlets.

  2. Turn the system over on its closed lid and loosen the ten (10) captive screws. The screws are around the edge and center of the system and secure the access panel to the chassis.

  1. Using a plastic scribe or some other tool that will not mark the plastics, pry the cover up from the left-hand side hinge [1]. Work clockwise around the access panel [2] to release it from the chassis.

    4. Please remove the Access Panel and disconnect the battery cable.

  2. With the system on its closed lid, the SSD is located in between the right-hand side top and bottom corners of the system.

  1. Remove the single (1) screw and washed that secures the M.2 2230 SSD to the chassis [1]. The card will spring up at an angle to the motherboard.

  1. Maneuver the SSD card out of the SSD connector and away from the system [2].

  1. Remove the two (2) screws securing the bracket to the chassis [1].

    1. During installation or removals of any hardware always ensure that all data is backed up properly.

    2. Disconnect any telephone, network, or USB cables from the computer.

    3. Disconnect the computer and all attached devices from their electrical outlets.

    4. Please remove the Access Panel and disconnect the battery cable.

  2. With the system on its closed lid, the fan is located in the top left-hand side corner of the system. Unroute the WLAN antennae cable from the hook near the fan assembly [1].

  1. Disconnect the System fan cable from the motherboard [2].

  2. Remove the two (2) screws that secure the fan to the chassis [1].

  1. Lift the fan assembly up and away from the chassis [2].

    3. Disconnect the computer and all attached devices from their electrical outlets.

    4. Please remove the Access Panel and disconnect the battery cable.

  2. With the system on its closed lid, the coin cell battery is located to the left of the system fan. Disconnect the coin cell battery cable from the motherboard [1].

  1. Lift the coin cell battery away from the adhesive on the motherboard [2].

 

  1. Pre-Removal Instructions before removing the MicroSD Memory Card:

    1. During installation or removals of any hardware always ensure that all data is backed up properly

    2. Disconnect any telephone, network, or USB cables from the computer

    3. Disconnect the computer and all attached devices from their electrical outlets

  2. The MicroSD slot is located on the right-hand edge of the system. Push in gently on the card in the slot and release to have it pop out of the slot.

  1. Grip the card and pull it the rest of the way out of the slot.

  1. Lift the speaker cable off the cable guide [2].

  2. Unroute the speaker cable from the routing channel [3].

  3. Remove the speakers and cable away from the PC.

  1. Pre-Removal Instructions before removing the WLAN Card (WiFi, Wireless):

    1. During installation or removals of any hardware always ensure that all data is backed up properly.

    2. Disconnect any telephone, network, or USB cables from the computer.

    3. Disconnect the computer and all attached devices from their electrical outlets.

    4. Please remove the Access Panel and unplug the battery cable.

  2. With the system on its closed lid, the WLAN card is located below the system fan. Remove the single screw that secures the card to the PC [1].

  3. Lift and remove the metal bracket over the antenna cables [2].

  1. Disconnect the two antenna cables pop connectors from the press studs on the WLAN card [3].

  2. Remove the WLAN card from the connector on the chassis [4].
