How to Identify the Dell Encryption Enterprise or Dell Encryption Personal Recovery Bundle Version

Instructions

Knowing the version of the Dell Encryption Enterprise (formerly Dell Data Protection | Enterprise Edition) or Dell Encryption Personal (formerly Dell Data Protection | Personal Edition) local security administrator (LSA) recovery bundle allows an administrator to:

  • Determine compatibility requirements.
  • Determine UI differences.
  • Understand workflow changes.

This article covers how to identify the version of the recovery bundle.

  • Dell Encryption Enterprise
  • Dell Data Protection | Enterprise Edition
  • Dell Data Protection | Server Edition
  • Dell Encryption Personal
  • Dell Data Protection | Personal Edition

The process differs between the products:

Note: The LSA recovery bundle must be downloaded before following these steps. For more information, reference How to Download the Dell Encryption Enterprise or Dell Encryption Personal Recovery Bundle.
  1. Right-click the LSA recovery bundle and then select Run as administrator.

    Note: The name of the LSA recovery bundle will differ in your environment.
  2. If Windows Defender is enabled, select More Info and then click Run anyway. Otherwise, go to Step 3.

  3. If User Account Control (UAC) is enabled, click Yes. Otherwise, go to Step 4.

  4. With the Dell recovery menu open, navigate back to the folder of the LSA recovery bundle, right-click LSARecovery_[HOSTNAME], and then select Properties.

  5. Click the Details tab.

  6. Record the File version. In the example image, 10.1.1.1 is the File version.
