Symptoms

MAC Address Pass-Through

Dell USB-C hub monitors that come with an integrated Ethernet RJ45 port and the MAC Address pass-through feature, will not work with non-Dell systems. Dell has a proprietary implementation of the MAC Address pass-through feature, which makes it available only when the monitor is used with a Dell system.

Affected monitors:      

  • U2421E
  • U2421HE
  • U2721DE

Cause

MAC Address pass-through is only available when used with a Dell system.

Resolution

This is working as designed.
