Instructions

How to find serial number on a VNX1 or VNX2 array.

There are 2 ways to obtain the serial number on the VNX array.
  1. Unisphere
    1. Login to Unisphere GUI 
    2. Select the array
    3. Serial number can be found under "System Information" on "Dashboard"

  1. CLI:
    1. For Unified array, login to control station and run the following command: /nas/sbin/serial
Example: 

[nasadmin@CS0 ~]$ /nas/sbin/serial
APM00111001117

  1. For block-only array, run the following command from workstation command prompt. The command below requires "Navisphere CLI" software installed onto the workstation: 
Command: naviseccli -h <SPA_or_SPB_IP> -user <system_user> -password <system_password> -scope 0 getagent
Example:
C:\ naviseccli -h 123.123.123.123 -user ka_ds -password 1234 -scope 0 getagent
