Upgrading to Windows 10

 

Before upgrading to Windows 10, perform the following steps:

 

  1. Ensure that your system BIOS is up to date. Check our article on Dell BIOS and UEFI Updates
  2. To disable Secure Boot from the BIOS, perform the following steps.
    1. Restart your system
    2. Start tapping F2 when the Alienware Logo shows up
    3. Inside the BIOS go to the Boot tab
    4. Go down and highlight Secure Boot
    5. Press Enter and select Disabled
    6. Press F10 to save and exit
  3. Run all the available updates on your current Windows version before performing the upgrade
  4. Uninstall your video card driver from Programs and Features in the Control Panel
  5. Now you can perform your Windows 10 Upgrade
