Dell SupportAssist OS Recovery is a powerful recovery tool that is designed to help you diagnose, fix, or recover your device when experiencing issues.
Versioning of Dell SupportAssist OS Recovery may be required to:
- Troubleshoot the product
- Understand product features
The Dell SupportAssist OS Recovery version can be identified in the Preboot Environment or Windows Operating System. Click the appropriate option for more information.
To identify the version:
- On system boot, hold F12.
- In the One-Time Boot Settings menu, click SupportAssist OS Recovery.
- During SupportAssist OS Recovery, document the version listed.
Note:
- In the screenshot, 5.5.1.16141 is the version.
- The version may differ in your environment.
- If you were unable to document the version before boot, go to Step 4.
- In the upper right corner of the SupportAssist OS Recovery Menu, select … and then click About.
- In the About menu, locate and then document the version of SupportAssist OS Recovery.
Note: The Platform, Service, and Warranty Expiration Date will differ in your environment.

- Right-click the Windows Start Menu and then click Apps and Features.
- Locate and then document the version for Dell SupportAssist OS Recovery Plugin for Dell Update.
