BIOS Option to Set a Hard Drive Password on M.2 SSD

Hard Drive Password

Computers with M.2 SATA drives support hard drive passwords with the SATA Operation BIOS setting set to Enabled. If the SATA Operation BIOS setting is set to Disabled (Figure 1), the computer does not have hard drive password support. This is working by design as the function is only supported with the SATA Operation Enabled.

Note: Computers with M.2 NVMe drives also support hard drive passwords with the SATA Operation BIOS setting set to Enabled.
