RS232 cable for Dell monitor

If the Dell C8618QT, C5518QT, C6522QT, C5522QT monitor is not responding to RS232 commands, ensure the correct straight-through cable is used and not the cross-over cable. Reference Figure 1 below for details on the correct RS232 cable:

Resolution

After ensuring the proper RS232 cable is being used, you must disable the network connection following the steps below:

  1. Press and hold icon 5 on the screen for 4 seconds to turn on (Figure 2):

  2. A network icon (Figure 3) appears on the top-left corner of the screen for 5 seconds:

  3. Press and hold icon 5 on the front panel for 4 seconds.
  4. A network icon (Figure 4) appears on the top-left corner for 5 seconds to show that the network has been disabled:
