Symptoms

VGA Port is not Working on VxRail.

Cause

This issue could be due to a loose cable or hardware fault.

Resolution

Ensure the monitor is working ok
 
  1. Has the monitor been tested and found to work on another server?
  2. Check the cable connections (power and display) to the monitor.
  3. Check the video interface cabling from the system to the monitor.
  4. Run the LCD Built-in Self Test (BIST).
 
VGA Ports
The training documents say that there are 2 x VGA ports (front and rear) so have both VGA video ports been tested for output?

The PowerEdge R640 system supports integrated Matrox G200eW3 graphics controller with 16 MB of video frame buffer .


This issue can be fixed by putting the KVM resolution to automatic then running the LCD Built-in Self Test (BIST).
