This article explains how to create a Virtual Disk using the System Settings menu with a PERC 10 and PERC 11 on a Dell PowerEdge server. For information about PERC 5(i+e), 6(i+e), H700, H800, H310, H710, H810, H330, H730 and H830, reference How to Initialize and Create a Virtual Disk With a Dell PowerEdge RAID Controller Series 7, 8 or 9.
Alternatively, the Virtual Disk can also be created from the integrated Dell Remote Access Controller (iDRAC) web interface. For more information, reference Dell PowerEdge: How to Create a Virtual Disk Using iDRAC9.
Enter the System Setup by pressing F2 during system start.
Click Device Settings.

Click the appropriate RAID controller device.

Click Main Menu.

Click Configuration Management.

Click Create Virtual Disk

The following list of options are now displayed to define the Virtual Disk parameters:
Click Select Physical Disks.

Choose the appropriate drives and click Apply Changes.

When the action was performed successfully, click OK.

Name the new Virtual Disk and choose the appropriate settings.
Click Create Virtual Disk.

Check Confirm and click Yes.

The Virtual Disk is created successfully. Click Ok.
