Symptoms
An SFP is installed on a port but in a down link state. View the output from the below command:
`show interface brief` ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Interface Vsan Admin Admin Status SFP Oper Oper Port Logical Mode Trunk Mode Speed Channel Type Mode (Gbps) ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- fc1/16 11 auto on notConnected swl -- -- -- --
It displays as "in sync state" when viewed with the below command for the interface details:
No tx fault, rx loss, in sync state, diagnostic monitoring type is 0x68
Cause
This is a cosmetic issue and is identified in the Cisco Issue CSCwa49621 .
The SFP sync state for 16 Gbps ports should be ignored in affected Cisco NX-OS releases. This applies to all Cisco NX-OS releases but only for 16 Gbps ports.
