Unisphere for PowerMax Virtual Appliance: How to configure Syslog?

1. To Edit Daemon Options file from vApp manager. 
   1. Click CONFIGURE > SOLUTIONS ENABLER 
   2. Click on Edit Daemon Options File  
   3. Add the below lines 

      storevntd:LOG_EVENT_TARGETS = syslog
      storevntd:LOG_EVENT_SYSLOG_HOST = <Syslog Host IP>
      storevntd:LOG_EVENT_SYSLOG_PORT = 514
      storevntd:LOG_SYMMETRIX_EVENTS = sid=0002968XXXXX, events

      
      Note: We have 2 options to make changes. Either you can add this line at the end of the Daemon Options File. 
      
      
      Or find these lines in Daemon Options File and edit the value and uncomment the line Example editing one of the line 
   4. Click Save
   5. Click Close 
       
2. Refresh the storevent daemon. Need to Stop and start storevntd 
   1. Click RUN COMMANDS
   2. In the dropdown list for SYMCLI command
   3. Select stordaemon 
   4. In Command arguments 

   5. Type  shutdown storevntd -immediate < To stop storevntd

      
      
   6. Check the Daemon status.
      1. Click MANAGE 
      2. Click DAEMONS

   7. Type  start storevntd  < To start storevntd >

      
      
   8. Ensure Daemon Running 
   9.

1. Configure Syslog
   1. Click Settings
   2. Click Alerts
   3. Click Notifications
   4. Enable Syslog 
   5. Click Apply
2. Select Alert Policies 
   1. Click Settings
   2. Click Alerts
   3. Click Alert Policies
   4. Select Array from drop-down list.
   5. Enable required Alerts.
   6. Under Notifications
      1. Check box for Syslog.
   7. Click Apply
