Select Dell Inspiron, and Vostro laptops exhibits a delayed power or power up time when used under battery power compare with AC adapter power.
Cause
This is caused due to the S5 mode power consumption saving design, where the charger IC is turned off when the system is set to S5. The charger IC includes a power-saving function under S5, and it takes time to resume from an S5 to an S0 state after pressing the power button.
Resolution
This is an expected behavior on these Dell Inspiron and Vostro laptops. A delay upon pressing the power button to turn on the system in battery only (DC) mode is normal.
The time difference between AC adapter (AC) compares with battery (DC) mode is this transition time.
