To extract the components within the tar file, un-tar the files: # tar -xvzf

Extracted files should contain the following:
- driver rpm (megaraid_sas-.rpm)
- source code (megaraid_sas--src.rpm)

Updating the Driver:

The RHEL native (in-box) driver is for OS installation only. The driver must be upgraded once the OS installation is done.


1. Install the Driver package. Use this command
# rpm -Uvh

2. Verify the driver has been loaded with this system command:
# modinfo megaraid_sas

The version shown in the output should match with the version of the package
