1. Please close other running applications before updating. 2. While the firmware is updating, please don't turn off the computer. 3. Please reboot the computer after the firmware update is completed.
HD12 Windows based firmware update is for DL-8A4SH Installation: 1. Download and unzip DL-8A4SH_HD12_utility.zip to your desktop. 2. In the new DL-8A4SH_HD12_utility folder, locate and open the Windows folder. 3. Make sure the ODD DL-8A4SH which target to do FW update is connected to the laptop. 4. Double click DL-8A4SH_HD12_FW utility_WIN.exe to start FW update process. 5. On the first screen is a warning message, it remind "This utility is only for DL-8A4SH and don't turn off the system while flash is in progress". Click "Yes" to continue. 6. On the next screen if the target ODD is not listed, select it and then Click "Update" to continue. 7. Load the firmware will be processing. Once the firmware update is complete(Screen will show "Firmware has been updated successfully!"). Click "OK" to finish FW update. 8. Next screen is reboot warning, request to reboot your computer. Close and save all important applications before reboot. Click "Now" to reboot the system. 9. After reboot the Firmware update is completed. To confirm the firmware update was successful, open Device manager -> open ODD -> click Properties -> choose hardware ID under Details and the firmware version "HD12" should be listed.

In the new DL-8A4SH_HD12_utility folder, locate and open the Dos folder. Please remenber the path of file "DL-8A4SH_HD12_FW utility_DOS.exe" 3. Using the F12 option, boot system into the Dos mode by USB device or DVD-ROM. 4. Execute the "DL-8A4SH_HD12_FW utility_DOS.exe" from Dos command. Press "Enter" key to continue. 5. On the first Dos screen is a warning message, it remind "This utility is only for DL-8A4SH and don't turn off the system while flash is in progress". Press the "Y" key to continue. 6. On the next screen the target ODD and current FW will be listed. Press "Enter" key to continue. 7. Screen is flashing "Programming..please wait 2 min". Firmware update is in progrssing. 8. Once the firmware update is completed, screen will show firmware update successfully. Press the "Y" key to re-boot into Windows. 9. After reboot the Firmware update is completed. To confirm the firmware update was successful, open Device manager -> open ODD -> click Properties -> choose hardware ID under Details and the firmware version "HD12" should be listed
