Installing an image by using HTTPS server: 1. Download the latest ThinOS firmware and latest ThinOS packages that corresponds to your thin client model. If the firmware and packages are in the form of a compressed self-extracting (.EXE) or zipped file (.ZIP), then extract the files. 2. Place the extracted firmware files in the C:\inetpub\ftproot\WYSE\wnos folder, and the packages to C:\inetpub\ftproot\WYSE\wnos\pkg on your HTTPS server. 3. Create a wnos.ini text file (using a text editor) in the C:\inetpub\ftproot\WYSE\wnos folder with the following INI parameters: Autoload=1 loadpkg=1 Addpkg=horizon 4. Save the wnos.ini file. 5. To locate the HTTPs File Servers/Path from Wyse 5010,5040 thin client, do the following: 5.1. On the ThinOS client desktop, navigate to System Setup > Central Configuration > General. 5.2. In the General tab, enter the IP address of the HTTPS server or directory, username and password. 5.3. Click OK. 6. Restart the thin client and wait until the auto-installation of packages is complete.
Installing an image by using Wyse Management Suite: 1. Download the ThinOS firmware file to a desired location or the Wyse Management Suite server. 2. Log in to Wyse Management Suite and navigate to the Apps and Data page. 3. Click OS Image Repository and select ThinOS. 4. Click Add Firmware File and browse the Firmware file. Provide an appropriate description and click Upload. 5. To update Group of devices, do the following: 5.1 Click Groups & Configs and select the group where the device is present. 5.2 Click Edit Policy-->ThinOS-->Advanced Configurations. 5.3 Click Firmware Upgrade and select Configure this item. 5.4 Select the Device Model and Firmware File. 5.5 Click Save & Publish. 6. To update a single device, do the following: 6.1 Go to the Devices page and click your preferred device. 6.2 On the Device Details page, click Create/ Edit Exceptions. 6.3 Click Advanced Configurations. 6.4 Click Firmware Upgrade and select Configure this item. 6.5 Select the Device Model and Firmware File. 6.6 Click Save & Publish.
Installing an image by using Wyse Device Manager (WDM): 1. To add device to the WDM server, on the ThinOS thin client, navigate to Desktop->Shutdown. 2. Select the Reset the system setting to factory defaults check box. 3. Select the Restart the system radio button, and click OK. 4. Log in to the WDM server after the ThinOS device is restarted. 5. Click Devices, and verify if the device is discovered and displayed on the Devices page in WDM. 6. Download the ThinOS file (Ex: ZD10_wnos) to C->inetpub->ftproot->Rapport->WTOSCONFIG->WNOS. 7. To configure the FTP server path for image upload, create the WNOS.ini file in C->inetpub->ftproot->Rapport->WTOSCONFIG->WNOS. 8. Create the INI parameters with the following values: SignOn=0 and autoload=1. 9. To allow WDM to use FTP when updating devices, log in to the WDM server with valid admin credentials. 10. Navigate to System-->WyseThinOS. 11. Enable the WTOS INI Path upon check-in settings. 12. Click the Save button to save the settings. 13. To allow the client to check in to the WDM server, on the ThinOS client, navigate to Desktop-> System Setup-> Central Configuration. 14. Click the WDA tab and then click the Protocol priority as WDM radio button. 15. Select all the Discovery Settings check boxes, such as DNS_NameRecord, DNS_SRVRecord and DHCP_Inform. 16. To set the FTP server path in ThinOS clients, click the General tab. 17. Enter a valid file servers/Path as configured (Ex:10.XXX.XXX.XXX/Rapport/WTOSCONFIG). 18. Click OK. 19. To initiate WTOS image update, navigate to Desktop -> Shutdown. 20. Click the Restart the system radio button and then click OK.
