Fixes & Enhancements
Fixes ----- - N/A
Enhancements ------------ - Added support for SLES 15sp3.
Known Issues ------------ - Adapters based on the Intel(R) Ethernet XL710 controller may display "Not reported" for the "Supported link modes" and "Advertised link modes" fields when connected to some 40Gbps active optical cables (AOC). The link will work correctly in this situation. - On RHEL 7.9, the E810 NIC interfaces are not functional on AMD Rome CPU based systems when the number of logical CPU's is greater than 124. nr_cpus=124 kernel command line parameter can be passed as a workaround to fix this issue. Note that when nr_cpus=124 there is a significant side effect in reducing the number of logical CPU cores. The issue is resolved in RHEL 7.9 z-stream kernel version kernel-3.10.0-1160.21.1.el7.x86_64. - When performing an offline installation (installation without a NIC connected to a valid network) of SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 15 SP1, the PHY link is disabled in the OS even if the Ethernet cable is plugged in. The PHY link is disabled due to the Intel driver disabling the link for power savings when the network is not in use. Configuring network settings during or after installation restores link LEDs. - Use of the 4x25 quad breakout or 1x100 port option will only work on Port 2 of Intel(R) Ethernet 100G 2P E810-C Adapter products. - On RHEL8.4 the Intel(R) Ethernet 25G 4P E810-XXV Adapter will show MAC address of VFs as zero on the host OS. To workaround the issue, stop NetworkManager and add "modprobe.blacklist=iavf" to the kernel's boot time parameters: 1. edit /etc/default/grub 2. cd /boot/grub2 3. cp -p grub.cfg grub.cfg_ORIG 4. grub2-mkconfig > grub.cfg
Dell Technologies recommends applying this update during your next scheduled update cycle. The update contains changes to maintain overall system health. It ensures that the system software remains current and compatible with other system modules (firmware, BIOS, drivers, and software) and may include other new features.
