Before updating this firmware, ensure that you back up the data in the system and close all open applications. It is also recommended to connect the power cable when it is not a desktop and disconnect all external storage devices.

Firmware upgrade through the Windows utility

Download
1. Click Download File to download the file.
2. When download is complete, run the downloaded file to extract to your drive.
3. The file explorer opens pointing to the directory containing the download package. Take note of the path.

Installation
1. Browse to the locations where you downloaded the file and double-click the Samsung_SSD_Toolkit.exe to install the application.
2. Launch the Samsung SSD Toolkit application
3. Click the Firmware Update button that is on the left panel.
4. Check the box beside the disk you want to update.
5. Click the Browse button on the bottom, browse to the location where you downloaded the file and open the EMM04D0Q_NF_ENC.bin file
6. Click the Download icon on the bottom right to begin the firmware update.
7. The Device Infomation will display the update progress and status will show a Pass when update is successful.
8. Reboot the system after the update completes.
