Fixes & Enhancements

Fixes
- Enabling Intel SGX from iDRAC web page/RACADM would encounter error UEFI0412 Unable to enable Intel SGX.
- Changing the value of Internal SD Card Redundancy from Mirror to Disabled would force Internal SD Primary Card be changed to SD card 1, even if there is no SD card insert in Slot 1. This should be the behavior for shared IDSDM only, but there's a bug cause all IDSDM have the same behavior.
- Fix system cannot enter BIOS setup when BIOS setup's Boot Sequence Retry in Boot Settings is enabled and after hours of failure boot attempts. Following on screen error message is shown when user try to enter BIOS setup: Not enough memory under 4GB.
- Updated SMBIOS table to reflect the corrected C6520 System Slot Length information, changing it from "Long" to "Half ".

New and enhanced features
Updated the following
- Intel processor and memory reference codes in the IPU Production Release (IPU 2024.1) v30.P.41.
- Intel processor microcode to version 0x3d1 in the 3rd Generation Intel Xeon Scalable Processors family.
- Intel Server Platform Services (SPS) and Manageability Engine (ME) firmware to SPS_E5_04.04.04.603.0.
Support the following
- When ESXio (DPU OS) Crashes OR PSOD (panic) occurs, ESXi (Host OS) will trigger a warm reboot and during this reboot, BIOS is supposed to recover the DPU by triggering cold reboot post detecting the DPU boot status as DPU_OS_CRASH_DUMP_IN_PROGRESS OR DPU_OS_CRASH_DUMP_COMPLETED for a maximum of three times. When this crash is not recoverable (DPU OS crashes on every cold reboot without recovery. Ex: Secure boot violation on ESXio), BIOS will trigger cold reboot again and again to recover the DPU in good state. This will result in endless cold reboot loop.
- This product release may contain security updates. Any security fix information will be accessible on the Dell Security Advisories and Notices website.

Additional details

Show All | Hide All
- Please make sure the BIOS has been updated to 1.7.4 (or newer revision) before you update the iDRAC firmware to Rev. 6.00.30.00 (or newer revision) to avoid an issue, the system would halt at an early boot during BIOS-iDRAC handshake while displaying the message "initializing data processing unit". This issue may occur after AC power cycle or while updating a CPLD firmware.

- After the implementation of a security enhancement, BIOS version 1.9.2 made the SGX sealed data inaccessible, preventing access by older BIOS. As a result, it is not advisable to downgrade the BIOS on an Intel SGX-enabled system to a previous version. Intel Software Guard Extensions Data Center Attestation Primitives (Intel SGX DCAP) and Intel Software Guard Extensions Provisioning Certification Service (Intel SGX PCS) users must update their BIOS to version 1.9.2 or newer if they plan to verify collateral with the Intel IAS-LIV enforcement server after January 17, 2023.

- Disabling the CPU Physical Address Limit option from the BIOS setup menu enables 5-level paging. However, enabling the CPU Physical Address Limit option may cause the operating system to stop at the driver verifier DMA violation test with a blue screen error when booting from an operating system that does not support 5-level paging, such as Microsoft Windows Server 2019, Microsoft Windows Server 2016 and so on.

- When updating the BIOS for the first time from version 1.4.4 or earlier versions to a later version, the Correctable Error Logging (CEL) option is Disabled by default.
