This patch for Dell OpenManageTM Server Administrator (OMSA) with the optional Storage Management component installed improves system stability for Dell PowerEdge servers containing PERC3/Di (ROMB), CERC SATA 6ch, CERC SATA 2s storage RAID controllers. Newer PERC/CERC controller families are not affected.
This patch will correct the following symptoms: •Slow application performance and possibly a hang of the Windows server operating system if OMSA is used to create a virtual disk using any of the above mentioned controllers. •Slow application performance and possibly a hang of the Windows server operating system if a consistency check is performed on an existing virtual disk attached to any of the above mentioned controllers.

It ensures that the system software remains current and compatible with other system modules (firmware, BIOS, drivers, and software) and may include other new features.
