Discover how to replace the GPU bracket in your system. Follow safety guidelines, power off the system, and use Torx and Phillips screwdrivers to efficiently replace the bracket. Ensure compatibility by selecting the appropriate custom bracket for your GPU card.
Prerequisites
Follow the safety guidelines listed in the Safety instructions.
Power off the system and all attached peripherals.
Disconnect the system from the electrical outlet and disconnect the peripherals.
If applicable, remove the system from the rack.
Remove the system cover.
Installing a new GPU card, unpack it and prepare the card for installation.
NOTE:For instructions, see the documentation accompanying the card.
New GPU cards are shipped with standard bracket, replace it with a custom bracket before installing.
NOTE:Based on the GPU card, use the appropriate custom bracket.
Replacing the GPU bracket:
Using Torx #T15 screwdriver loosen the torx screws and remove the standard bracket from the GPU card.
Align the custom bracket with the screw holes on the GPU card and using Philips #1 screwdriver tighten the screws (4 ± 0.5 in-lbs).
Replace the system cover.
If applicable, install the system into the rack.
Reconnect the peripherals and connect the system to the electrical outlet, and then power on the system.
