Launch the enterprise manager client click configure vmware vsphere to access a storage center, log in the storage center and the VM ware host.
If the zoning has not been done for the server prior to running this wizard, a pop up will occur indicating that the fiber channel HB A initiator is not connected to storage center.
The HBAS worldwide name is displayed in the text of the pop up notification. You will need to log into the fiber channel switches and find the worldwide name. Expand out the worldwide names.
Once you found the worldwide name, determine what switch or fault domain you are on select the appropriate fault domain. If the worldwide name is not logged into the switch log into the other switch.
The next step is to create an alias for the server and add the worldwide name into the alias. The next step is to create a zone for the server. Add a server alias as well as two virtual aliases for the storage center.
Next add a zone into the configuration, be sure to save and enable the configuration. Once the zoning is complete, go back in the wizard select fault domain. Two and click. OK. Once you click, OK. The wizard will check connectivity from the server to the storage center.
If zoning was not done prior to starting the wizard, it will show not connected simply click, refresh connectivity information and it should show fully connected click create server.
The wizard will apply best practices to the server. Once the server is set up, you'll have the option to create a volume for the host. You may check the box and click finish.
This will start to create volume wizard enter a name, a capacity, the replay profiles and click finish. Once the volume is created, log into the VM ware V sphere with the client on the configuration tab, click on storage and add storage.
Select disc one Compell fiber channel disc should be shown. Select the file system version, provide a data store name, click finished and your ESX fiber channel host is now attached.
