Launch enterprise manager client, click on discover and configure uninitialized sev 2000 series storage centers. Verify you have the required information as listed here before continuing. Click next to continue. The discovery can take up to one minute.
The array should have been discovered. If more than one array is listed, you can use the service tag to identify the correct system to initialize. Highlight the array to be initialized and click next. Provide the required information to configure management on the array and then click next.
Provide a new password for the admin account and an email address for alerts. Click next, verify the configuration information is correct. It is recommended to use the copy to clipboard feature to retain the configuration information. Click apply configuration to continue. The initialization generally takes about five minutes before continuing. Verify each server being used is connected to both controllers.
Typically you'll connect two or four connections to each server. It is important that the server is connected to the same port number on each controller. For additional cabling examples, please refer to the deployment guide. Click next to continue if you are not using all of the ports such as a two hosts with only two connections each. This screen will be displayed.
It will also be displayed in the event that one port is down. For any reason, if you plan on using these ports in the very near future, you should select the ports that are going to be used. This is an example of one port not being connected properly. You can see it as port three on the bottom controller.
If all ports are connected, you'll go straight to this screen. For this installation. We are using two hosts with four connections each. For this video, we have connected the cables and rescanned on this screen. You can review the fault domain configuration. Click next to continue.
Figure the time settings. NTP is strongly recommended. If you don't have an NTP server, you can use a windows domain controllers which includes NTP by default. Click next to continue. Enter your SMTP information. It is recommended to test the server and click next. When completed.
It is strongly recommended to accept the support assist license agreement by not accepting it. You will not receive the following benefits, proactive service requests, real time troubleshooting, automatic support case creation, pro support plus and optimized service delivery, automatic health checks, remote storage center os upgrades. Click next. Provide your contact information to enable dell technical support to proactively contact you if an issue arises. Click next to continue, the system will check for any available storage center upgrade.
This may take a minute or two to complete if the update check failed. And your network utilizes a proxy, you can configure it on the screen by clicking on the edit configuration proxy link. If an upgrade has been found, clicking next will automatically upgrade the array with no other user intervention.
The upgrade process can take up to one hour once the upgrade is complete, click next, it's recommended to click finish to see if the array is properly functioning with no errors.
