Requesting a Parts & Labor Service Call

In this video we have a look at how to raise a Parts & Labor Service Call via the Dell Support website. Before beginning the steps in the video, first navigate to www.dell.com/support and login to your Dell Account. After the login is successful search for the Service Tag of the system you wish to raise the service request for.

To request a parts and labor service. Open contact us and click start chat, type in your contact information and click start chat. The virtual assistant will load, welcome you to the chat and access your system information. Choose your faulty part and confirm the system location.

Let the assistant know if you have already generated the TSR logs. If you select no, the assistant can help you generate the logs. The assistant will ask if the logs are less than one day old. If they are, you will be prompted to upload them, click on attachment and add the files, click on upload and then close. When finished.

When the assistant receives the logs, it will take a few minutes to analyze them. Once analyzed, the assistant will confirm the faulty part, select the parts and labor service and choose either next business day delivery or chat with a live agent. If your system entitlement supports quicker delivery options.

Once you've chosen your delivery option, fill out the form with your contact information. Once the form is completed, click submit and confirm the validated address. Fill in the additional information for the on site technician. So the assistant can create your work order request. You will receive the work order number and the part shipped along with the on site schedule, date and time.

If you need to reschedule the engineer visit select reschedule, click on reschedule, visit the service request details page will open, expand the work order section and click on reschedule my appointment, select your preferred date and time and click request appointment. Click on. Ok. When finished, once you've scheduled the service, confirm if the assistant resolved your query and rate your support experience.
